News: Breen Wins Major Award
On July 23, 2001, President Breen became the first Merlin's Cove President to win the distinguished Alfred G. Nobel Prize for World Peace. Breen received the award for his strenuous efforts to unite the peoples of Eastern and Western Massachusetts. Michael Kirk, the Communications Director and Campaign 2001 spokesman, said, "This is a very proud day in the history of Merlin's Cove. President Breen has brought peace to Massachusetts just as surely as he has brought prosperity and good times to the Cove." Reached at his home in Amherst, Breen said that "I am humbled to be in the same category with Rigoberta Menchu and that landmines guy.
